Tonight I started getting weirdly nostalgic about high school. I just wanted to listen to Paramore and take pictures on photobooth on a mac with my friends - back when macs and photobooth were a novelty.

I say weirdly nostalgic because as a whole, I didn't enjoy my high school experience. Because of reasons. There would a lot of things I would have done differently, but the english class during senior year saved me. I found joy there when I was going through one of the most difficult times, and I will be forever grateful for that.

I would look forward all day to 6th period. I remember walking away after school wishing that I had a Pensieve like in Harry Potter, so I could put in my memories of the conversations that I just had with Tyler. Our sense of humor just clicked, and we would come up with the funniest things, just bouncing off each other.
I remember sitting in socratic seminars, wishing that I could be as quick and clever as Ryan or Jordan. They'd always find something in the reading that left me astonished.
I remember our class all ditching school after the dreadful IB testing and going to McDonald's to get ice cream. I loved them. We had the greatest times.
I'm glad that because of that class, that small but very select group of people made it worth each day.
