My friend posted this on her facebook today and it inspired some thoughts.
I know it's a bit long, but you should definitely watch this.

Last week when Brianne and I were coming back from SF, we got on the bus and saw that the only two spots next to each other were really in this group of four seats, gathered around a little table. We picked up the last group in San Jose, and these two boys came to sit opposite from us.

We didn't talk, except for occasional "sorry!" when we'd kick each other. Brianne and I watched a movie and kept to ourselves. When we were done, we took our headphones out and the younger boy asked if we wanted to play Uno. We said yes, and for almost two hours we played with these two kids. We talked the rest of the time, spending about 6 hours together in all.
It turns out that they were brothers, and were going down to LA to meet with their dad. The older brother, Michael, had a baseball tryout in the morning with the Dodgers. Joshua played football. Michael worked at KFC and Five Guys. Joshua had a secret girlfriend and was in the 2nd grade. They reminded me of my own two brothers.

We all remarked how we almost spent 8 hours looking at two strangers across the seat, and not have said a word to them. We became comfortable with each other and there wasn't a moment where we didn't have something to say. Maybe it was because they reminded me of Benn and Coop, but I genuinely cared about them and their lives. Uno broke the ice, and we all walked away as friends.

Stuff like that doesn't happen everyday, and I guess neither does making a friend in a ballpit. Either way, it's all pretty cool, and I hope we open ourselves more to experiences like this.
