I know that it's ~super lame~ to post pictures of your meals, but these are meatballs with lingonberry sauce from Ikea for heaven's sake, so this is obviously an exception to that rule, right?
I know it's an incredibly irrelevant picture, but I did eat it today, and it's the only picture I have from today.

Today I went to a funeral for a man I did not know, but I was touched all the same. Some of his older grandchildren went up and told us of their memories of him, or things that he taught. I was sitting next to my own Papa, and thought of the things that he's taught me. I considered the things I would say about other people at their own funerals, but I doubt I will be invited to speak at any of them. Still, it's nice to reflect on people who have had an impact on our lives.

In Les Mis, I finally got to the part where Valjean is introduced. I wanted to share some of my favorite quotes by/about the Bishop of Digne, but his part isn't quite over yet, so I will wait a while. I venerate this ethereal, but very human man, and I want everyone to read about him because I feel like we all have something to learn.

Another thing - while reading this book, I've encountered some of the most exquisite vocabulary. Words like assiduous, venial, intrepid, obstinate, adulated, imbued, pantheistic, apotheosis, inconoclastic - I could go on about they way they sweep me off my feet.

I've always had a love for words, and I want to incorporate a better vocabulary into my speech.
For example: I was about to type the word vernacular, but then discovered that it actually describes a sort of everyday or conversational language, and would therefore disprove my point.
Forgive me if I sound like pretentious. It's just that words are so incredible and some of them are so exact and there's so many of them, waiting to be used.

The point of all of this, is that I want to be more intentional with the way I speak.
I want to be intentional about a lot of things, but this is one little way that I can start with.
Call me a walking Lexicon.
Ha. Vocab jokes.

Ok goodnight.
