Yesterday was a really great day.
Brianne showed up at my door at 11, after a day in San Deigo visiting people at IC.
I wanted her to spend the night at my house so she didn't have to drive home
and possibly fall asleep at the wheel.
But of course, I wanted to see her as well.
We talked for almost two hours and fell asleep.
In the morning, (I can't remember how this happened, but honestly I can't care)
we found ourselves watching the opening song from when Hugh Jackman hosted the Oscars. And then we spend another hour screaming (literal yells) about how perfect he is.
What a wonderful guy.
Then we felt like eating Panda Express, so we got in her car and headed down.
We split this f a t plate and drove home blasting Mumford with the windows down.
This made me beyond happy.
"Do you want to learn how to ride a bike?" I asked, as we pulled up to my house.
She agreed, though she was nervous.
So we got out my bike and Cooper's bike. She liked his because it was smaller and she could reach the ground to catch herself if she fell.
I would say she picked it up pretty quickly. She had doubts about her balance, so I would run alongside her and steady her if she fell.
Man, it was hot, and running around made me tired.
By the end of it though, she was trying to kick off and turn in a circle on her own. So she hasn't mastered it completely, but I'm proud of her.
Later on, I met up with people at the church parking lot so we could go to the beach.
Almost as soon as we got there, some of us rolled up our pants and ran around in the water. It was dark enough to see the stars but bright enough to see each other splashing.
I was in heaven.
I tried to look for shooting stars, but didn't find any. So I got up to make a s'more, and as I was kneeling over the fire, I looked up and saw this guy. "I know you!" I yelled, and walked over to him. It was Chris's roommate from last semester. We talked for an hour about jobs, his mission, Les Mis, and weird singles ward life. It was great, and just a really funny coincidence.
I was feeling weird this week, but the incredible weather, Brianne's visit, and this beach trip was definitely a great way to wrap everything up. I think I'm feeling better now.
