Note to my future self-

I want you to know that it's going to be ok. I know that you consider one of your faults to be that you are constantly wishing for more, and that you wish you were better at being "present." It seems like no matter where you are, you are wishing that things were different, and consequently, guilt follows. It's ok. You can learn how to be happy with where you are - physically or mentally. It's a skill that you will have to learn, and it won't happen overnight. But won't it be so wonderful when you feel like you're getting the hang of this? 

Another thing. The ways that you miss your friends - that means something. Relish and truly enjoy the fact that you have such incredible people in your life that cause you to miss them so much. They are friends worth having. Even though you can't spend all your time with them, as you'd like, have gratitude in your heart for the opportunity to even have them at all, and to have ways in which you can communicate easily with them. Count your blessings.

If you're feeling down and the weather is accommodating, go sit outside in the sun. Take a walk or ride your bike. You'll feel better.
